Application Procedure
Eligibility
A. Applicant must be planning to attend or already enrolled in an
undergraduate program at an accredited non-profit school, a
public or private college, university, community college, or
technical college. Awards will be disbursed after the
completion of your first semester payable to the winner.
Both traditional and non-traditional students are encouraged
to apply.
B. Applicant must be a primary member “in good standing” of
TCCU,
or immediate
family members must be primary members to be eligible for
the scholarship awards or join the credit union before
submitting a scholarship application.
C. If you live, work, or attend school in Shelby, Harrison,
Crawford, Carroll, Cass, Audubon and Pottawattamie Counties,
you are eligible to join TCCU. Additionally, membership is
open to the family members of existing TCCU members.
Awards
A. Four awards totaling $2,000 will be awarded to incoming freshmen
who were members of a 2009 high school class;
B. Non-traditional award totaling $500.00 will be awarded to any
person who is entering or attending an accredited
undergraduate, graduate or vocational program.
C. Winners will be announced at the Senior Awards Night on May 6,
2009. We will announce the winners to the entire membership
in the July newsletter.

Judging
A. Judging will be completed by a panel of impartial judges
selected by TCCU management. All decisions are final.
Administrative/Award Procedures
A. Winners will be informed by phone.
B. Winners of the high school scholarships must begin their studies
within one year of graduation from high school or may be
required to forfeit the award in the absence of extenuating
circumstances. The winner of the nontraditional scholarship
must currently be in school or begin studies within one year
after the award of the scholarship.
C. High school winners must be enrolled as a full-time student at
any accredited vocational, 2-year or 4-year college approved
for the guaranteed student loan program. Nontraditional
winners must be enrolled at an approved college, but are not
required to be enrolled full-time.
D. Scholarship funds will be mailed to the winners at the beginning
of August 2009. Funds will be issued to the winner attending
in the fall.
E. Funds are to be used only for tuition, room and board, and book
and educational supply expenses.

A. Town and Country Credit Union has the right to amend any of the
above rules to ensure fairness in the award of scholarships.
B. Any questions regarding the scholarship program should be

On a separate sheet of paper, complete a résumé of your
accomplishments in the following areas:
1) Honors,
Awards, Recognitions, and Achievements (Personal, School,
Community, Church, Sports, Etc.)
2) Extra-Curricular Activities (Clubs, Sports, Hobbies,
Etc.)
3) Volunteer Experiences (Personal, School, Community,
Church, Etc.)
4) On a separate sheet of paper, complete only one of
the following statements
(500 word maximum – minimum of 300 words).

Sworn Statement
I swear that the attached essay is my original work, and all
other personal information is true and correct. I
acknowledge that misrepresentation of application
information is sufficient grounds for denial of scholarship.
I understand that all submitted materials become the
property of Town and Country Credit Union for whatever use
it deems appropriate. I agree to cooperate with Town and
Country Credit Union in promotional activities related to
the scholarship competition, and should I be selected as a
recipient, give them permission to use my name and photo in
promotional activities.
